| Canberra Railway Museum is operated by Australian Railway Historical Society. The Museum is located at Geijera Place, at the end of Cunningham St, in Kingston, not far from the Canberra Railway Station. Relax at the Museum while you experience the golden age of railways. See the steam locomotives, including the diminutive 1210 (built in 1878 and restored to working order in 1988), which hauled the first train into Canberra in 1914, and the huge 265 tonne Beyer-Garratt 6029. Also see the beautifully restored tender locomotive 3016 which started life as a tank engine hauling suburban trains around Sydney, prior to electrification. |

| The museum exhibits include railway locomotives, railmotors, carriages and wagons, trams, trolley buses, motor buses, stationary steam engines and many other items of historical interest. There is also a display of historical photographs and other small objects. Train trips are run at the museum twice a month, on the first and third Sunday. Located in the Hobart suburb of Glenorchy, the museum is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, generally between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm. On steam train running days the museum opens at 11:00 am. |

| Take a trip into railway history at Australia's top railway attraction. The National Railway Museum, houses the largest undercover collection of locomotives, passenger carriages and freight vehicles in Australia. All three railway gauges used in Australia are represented. The collection comprises steam engines and the diesel locomotives and railcars which replaced them. It features train rides, exhibits and displays. Its activities include a sales centre, and the publication of a national magazine, Catchpoint. Tours are available and the Museum is available for private functions. The Museum is open from 10 am until 5 pm every day of the year except Christmas Day. |

| The Australian Railway Historical Society (Victorian Division) Railway Museum is located on Champion Road in North Williamstown, just a short walk from the North Williamstown railway station. Exhibits on display include locomotives (steam, diesel and electric) carriages, wagons, etc. The museum is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays (except Good Friday and Christmas Day) between 12 Noon and 5pm. The museum's Dining Car is also available for hire for kids parties. |

| The Dorrigo Steam Railway and Museum Limited is home to the largest collection of preserved railway vehicles and memorabilia from the various Government and private railways of New South Wales. | The Illawarra Light Railway Museum Society Ltd. was established to the public in the mechanics, manufacture and operation of steam engines and other mechanicial devices used in light railway operations and industry, to provide a place for public exhibition of light railway locomotives and rolling stock, along with other related items of historical interests. The Illawarra Light Railway Museum operates approximately 14 to 16 times each year. From 1979 until 1999 some 260,000 visitors have been carried on the museum railway. A well equipped workshop, locomotive and carriage shed has been devoloped on the museum grounds for restoration, fabrication, track works and other related museum work projects. |

| Pichi Richi Railway is an operating museum, operating regular heritage train journeys on the oldest remaining section of the famous old narrow-gauge Ghan railway. Pichi Richi Railway is located at Quorn, in South Australia's Flinders Ranges. Trains operate from Quorn and Port Augusta. The railway is operated, maintained and managed by its dedicated volunteer members. |

| Yass Railway Museum is operated by Australian Railway Historical Society. The Yass Railway Museum is open Daily 10am to 4pm, except Christmas and Boxing Days. The establishment of this Museum was greatly helped by a Heritage Grant from the N.S.W. Government while today the museum is largely self sufficient.
