Don't be fooled by the name. The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a first-rate logging railroad museum. The Centre has three Shay locomotives, two Climax locomotives (including Hillcrest Lumber Company No. 9, the only operational Climax in the world), two other tank locomotives, and three industrial diesel locomotives. Passenger steam trains operate regularly during the summer on a 15 minute route through the beautiful, forested grounds and over a lakeside trestle. The Centre is also a very professional museum of logging history.
