| The Colorado Railroad Museum is recognized as one of the best privately supported rail museums in the United States. This "can't miss" site for the rail fans features over 70 historic narrow and standard gauge locomotives and cars exhibited on 15 acres at the foot of North Table Mountain, near Golden, Colorado. The museum was established in 1959 to preserve for future generations a tangible record of Colorado's flamboyant railroad era, particularly the state's pioneering narrow gauge mountain railroads. The museum is open every day of the year from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every Thursday the museum building, library, and gift store, are open until 9:00 p.m. Museum grounds close at 5 p.m. During the summer months of June, July and August, we stay open until 6:00 p.m |

| The Forney Transportation Museum is a collection of over 500 exhibits relating to historical transportation. It began with antique cars, but soon expanded to include vehicles of all kinds. Some of these are familiar, while others spark the imagination. | The recently acquired collection of Moffat Road memorabilia has been a significant addition to the museum. Carefully collected over many years by a local collector, it is now a permanent exhibit at the museum. The "Marcia Car" on display in the Craig city park, and available for viewing and tours. Completely restored, the car was David Moffat's private business car, named after his daughter. |

| Home of the giant steam locomotive ATSF 2912. We concentrate on 5 roads serving Pueblo, CO before recent consolidations. Static displays with occaisonal GP-7 operation including cab, coach and caboose rides. Historic preservation of equipment, artifacts and documents. | Ridgway, Colorado, long known as the birthplace of the Rio Grande Southern Railroad, is the home of a new museum dedicated to the preservation of the history of railroading in Ouray County and surrounding areas. The railroad museum committee is currently developing plans for a permanent location. The Ridgway Railroad Museum has a variety of purposes within its agenda. | The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum has collected many lost railroad treasures that you can now enjoy as part of your D&SNGRR experience. The Museum is set up in the roundhouse so there are eight sets of track leading from the turntable and eight storage stalls. The museum also features original railroad paintings, historic photographs, antique railroad lamps and an amazing hand carved train engine. Not only can you look at all the unique collectibles in the museum, but the locomotives are all open for you to explore on your own. Everyone will have fun exploring this wonderful piece of American history. |
