The museum is located in the former Canadian National Railway Station (c.1918) Exhibits tell the story of Nova Scotia's railways. The collection includes railway memorabilia, photographs, maps, artifacts, posters, tickets and a small library. Items of local history are housed in the same building and the waiting room is a tourist bureau. The platform area includes a collection of baggage wagons a massive snowplow car and the historic caboose. Many of the exhibits are designed for children and tell the story of Nova Scotia's railways, with in-depth material available for the serious railway buff.
