Brighton's Railway Museum

The Century old former CN Station and grounds, have been purchased by Mr. Ralph Bangay, a local historian. It was constructed in 1857, using brick from the local area, and followed a similiar design of other stations between Toronto and Montreal. In 1995 Mr Bangay purchased the property and continues to develop the station as a Railway Museum and a place for local historical artifacts. The station is located adjacent to the busy C.N. and C.P. Toronto-Montreal main lines. A great place for train watching and railfans are welcome to sit at the platform and watch the trains pass by.

The Cochrane Railway and Pioneer Museum, located across the road from the current train station, with all the sounds, sights and bustle, provides the ideal backdrop and location, for our T&NO (Temiskaming and Northern Ontario) locomotive # 137 and it's many artifacts that are housed in the three coaches and two CN cabooses. From steam engine to cabooses, it is a home to an abundance of railway memorabilia. Enjoy the trapper's cabin replica, antique photographs and display of the pioneer life in Cochrane.

The Elgin County Railway Museum was incorporated in 1988 as a registered non-profit charity for the purpose of preserving and restoring the railway heritage of St. Thomas and surrounding area. Our knowledgeable base of volunteers are dedicated to keeping alive the memory of the railway which put St. Thomas on the map. We are located in the 1913 former Michigan Central Railroad Locomotive Shops next to the Canada Southern Railway which was built in 1872 as a shortcut through Canada from Chicago to New York.

The Fort Erie Museum Board administers the operations of Fort Erie Railroad Museum. This popular specialty museum collects, preserves and exhibits historically significant artifacts which represent the founding and development of the railroad industry in greater Fort Erie. Located next to Oakes Park on Central Avenue in Fort Erie, this outdoor site contains: Canadian National Railway steam engine 6218, caboose 79138, Grand Trunk Railway station B-1....other artifacts representing Fort Erie¹s railroad history.

Founded in 1953, Halton County Radial Railway is Canada's first, and Ontario's only, operating electric railway museum. Situated at Stop 92 on the former right-of-way of the Toronto Suburban Railway, we offer the opportunity to enjoy a trip down memory lane with rides on a variety of restored street cars, radial and work cars, through 2 kilometers of scenic woodlands. Many railroad items are available for close examination including telegraph keys, spike hammers, spike pullers, switch lanterns, steam gauges, a railroad safe, a baggage sleigh and the Museum's collection of motor cars and Fairmont speeders and a three-wheel velocipede may all be handled. Serious researchers are most welcome to browse through the Museum's extensive library of books, photos, and newspaper clippings. The Museum's pride is a 1913 Shay steam locomotive now under-going restoration in its own building.

Niagara Falls Railway Museum - A Non-profit organization, our aim is to preserve and promote the railway heritage that exists in Niagara Falls. Artifacts come from a wide variety of railways including Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, New York Central, Wabash, Penn Central, NS&T, TH&B, GGR. The collection contains a good mixture of all these railways and many more. The collection also includes numerous paper artifacts such as Operating Handbooks, Locomotive Operations Manuals, timetables and maps.
