I stopped by this unique little museum yesterday on the way out of the Dells. I was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered: A friendly little museum with literally little trains. The locomotives are very impresive, similar to the Zoo Express @ the Milwaukee Zoo.The ride was very scenic and historic, as the right-of-way is ancient Milwaukee Road.``The staff is very friendly and hard working. ``The facilities are very well maintained and authentic looking, albeit built to the scale of the miniture railroad. Facility has a Cool gift shop, as well as full shop and machine shed buildings. I'd go deeper into the history of this unique place, but the space alloted in this review could not do its history any justice. This little road is also trying to cope with disaster, as 1/4 of it's line has been washed out and is in need of finantial as well as manpower support. I'm hooked. Everything about this little railroad is unique. The staff is very friendly to children, and the small scale of the trains is way more hands on for kids then the average railroad museum. ``I enjoyed myself intensely and if anyone is in the Wisconsin Dells area, or @ Mid-Continent RR museum look up this little gem, you'll be happy you did.
