On a Milwaukee Road 261 trip to Duluth. I got my chance to visit this outstanding collection of upper midwest railroad equipment. The DM&IR Yellowstone with it's drivers going is incredible. On my second trip to ride the Farewell to the Erie Mining Railroad they even provided me with a tripod to take better photographs. A real friendly and classy railroad museum.````Chris

I took the Milwaukee Road 261 to Duluth and was treated to this excellent upper midwest railroad museum. The DM&IR Yellowstone with it's drivers going is incredible and they have a unique collection. On my second trip to Duluth for the Farewell to the Erie Mining Railroad, they even let me use a tripod for far better indoor pictures. A great group of people and a very special museum.````Chris

The best museum I have ever visited, bar none. The area is rich in RR history, and this museum does it justice in a big way. You are in for a real treat if you go. Coming in May, a donated SD45 cab with an ACTUAL SIMULATOR inside that was once used to train engineers!!

My husband and I visited the LSRM in April 2003for the model train display. Although there were less displays than in some of the larger shows we've seen in the Twin Cities, the sheer volume of ideas present among the displays was quite impressive. We took lots of digital photos and video and now look forward to our winter hobby activity. It was an extra treat to see the old storefronts as they must have appeared during the Depot's heyday. Of course, hubby was ecstatic over all the original equipment. I've tagged along on many of my husband's visits to train shows, but I've never felt like making a return trip before. Thanks for a special day!
