After riding past on Amtrak many times, I finally got my chance to visit with the NRHS 2001 Convention.I toured all of the equipment and enjoyed photograhing their unique collection of railroading equipment. It lived up to all of my expections. What a great place.````Chris````Chris

Allow enough time,guided tour was very informative. Liked the different types of cars. Very interesting. Many exhibits.

Excellent collection of Locomotives, but quite a shame the Big Boy, and DD-40x were partially blocked off due to construction. Hope they finish soon.

Around 2000 the stop letting people go in many of the attractions.``Its 2004 and its still the same.````I live about 3-4 miles from it.

They are restoring more exhibits. It was mostly rust a few years ago. They seem to be getting some much needed funds. Great collection of trains, but still needs work. Definitly worth a see. I go at least once a year.

I grew up in kirkwood in the late fifties. I use to hike to the museum with my friends. I will never forget the caretakers allowing us to play on the old locomotives. do you have any old pictures of the original museum?
