Go back to my first visit there to now and what a change. The people working there have done miracles with not only the grounds but the equipment they have restored. A very unique piece of railroading on display here.````Chris

The museum at Campo is a truely remarkable, and often over looked gem. Its somewhat remote location, 35 miles east of San Diego likely deters many. The collection is excellent, capped by their incredible restoration of a 1930's postal car. The volunteer staff is incredibly helpful and dedicated.

Hello, Located on the main line of the historic San Diego and Arizona Eastern Rail line. Campo station will leave you breathless with the natural setting I call on top of the world. A high flat mountain top that streches from the desert floor up and over campo station to the low lands of San Diego Bay. The views from San Diego to the Museum are breathtaking. We rode the train for its afternoon run to a high point east of the Campo Station. We turned around just short of the world famous george and many tunnels down to the desert. The crew answered all our questions, and were really friendly and you could tell these volenteers loved what they were doing. A great collection of steam engines and other collectables were eye candy for a old railroad buff. The train ride was aaa++++. Would recommend for familys and children. Had a wonderful day and all for the same price of a good movie.``

A Place that will take you back in time to the era of train travel at it's best. The rolling stock is amazing, the train ride fabulous, the people (all volunteers) great and they know their stuff. It's a great place to entertain and educate your children about trains and history. Well worth the extra effort to get there from San Diego!``Beats Disneyland or Knott's trains and for a fraction of the expense!
